When we say we love your junk, we mean it!
Generous support from a Metro Investment & Innovation Grant deepened our ability to divert usable materials from the waste stream, and our efforts have continued to grow. Our reuse program maintains active relationships with a large network of community organizations, providing individuals and collectives with the supplies they need to thrive. Our in-house repair shop gives broken items new life, and we host events to share the skills needed to keep our “junk” in circulation for longer.
What we do:
-
We collect and distribute all manner of materials- from furniture and household goods, and appliances, to building materials, commercial equipment, and more. Our network of community partnerships and direct relationships is always growing, increasing the items we are able to rehome.
-
At The Frog Pond, our in-house repair workshop, we take care to bring broken or damaged items back into usable condition for donation or sale. This service comes at no extra charge to our hauling clients, who know their items are getting the love they deserve and are staying out of the landfill.
-
After seeing a need in our Old Town neighborhood, we began hosting monthly “Free Store” events to provide neighbors with basic housewares, clothing, furniture, art supplies, books, toys, and more. To date, we have hosted 9 events and served over 600 customers. Where there is both need and excess, there is room for creativity! Learn more here.
-
We collaborate with nonprofits, grassroots community organizations, housing programs, and mutual aid efforts to ensure materials move in the direction of the greatest need.
-
We want everyone to share the competence and confidence needed to repair their well-loved items, use salvaged items and supplies to make the things they need, and get sustainably creative! Check our calendar for upcoming events.
